Galvanina Lemon Soda paired perfectly with Pizza Arrabbiata al taglio, and a delightful Suppli Classico to go with it. I love Bonci. Lucky to have the only North American location...
This weekend I did my first ever party doubleheader. On my itinerary was the DNBID party put on by Renan & Stunna and xlx BIG put on by xlx. Stunna & Renan invited a special guest Magnetic Soul for a genre night of jungle & drum and bass. The space, Epiphany Center for the Arts, is quite an eclectic space. Formerly a church, its renovations include several event spaces for simultaneous parties, often including weddings. It really is a huge complex and only some events will give you the sense of its volume. Upstairs was the DNBID party in a relatively spacious and dimly-lighted, secluded area with one entrance/exit. There are highboy tables placed at the sides of the party area, a screen for visuals, and integrated sound. The bar is unfortunately located in the narrow hallway which constitutes the entrance to the space. At this particular event, a significant few did not mind the space they were occupying: gesticulating wildly and turning their backs to people traversin...
Lola & Rex relaxing. Rex perking up his ears as he hears me walk by with my crinkly jacket. Another visit with some of my favourite rabbits. Lola, Rex, Pepe, Olaf, Anna, and Elsa. I was waiting taking my time to start since I arrived early. I snapped this cute picture of the boys lounging together and saw Anna & Elsa were the pair of free roamers for the day. I made my way over to say hello to Anna. Elsa was hiding under the nearby sofa taking a serious nap. It was 4 PM, so they were a wee shy of catching their second wind for the day. Anna is always quite relaxed. She and Elsa are 7 years old and bonded together sweetly. I saw Elsa pop out later during my visit and she promptly snoozed next to her honeybun. She was loudly sawing logs and I was lucky to make a video of it. It's rather close up so not much to see, but she was really in quite a fervent slumber. Her half-awake face was also really silly. I stepped in to Pepe's pen to say hello. He was lou...
This Saturday I visited Six Flags Great America for the first time since around 2008 and with my girlfriend Pia. I decided to get myself a gold membership for 2025 and a photo pass to get myself reacquainted with coasters before spending on a flash pass. Pia felt much the same since it had been so long since her last park visit and we were unfamiliar with our tolerance for forces and speed. We arrived a half hour after park open and left around 10:30 PM at night. It was cool in the morning and afternoon and was very chilly by sunset and during the evening. Our visit coincided with Oktoberfest and Fright Fest celebrations so the atmosphere was quite electric -- especially in the evening. I faced some physical harassment in some lines which was quite irritating, but that problem was the children instead of the park. I had no issue at Coney Island, although I didn't stand in line for hours at Coney Island. We headed straight for Raging Bull when we arrived -- it was already about an ...
